Hello and Welcome to the Games Division of the Washington State Horsemen.
Sometimes we all have a little “need for speed” within us (Top Gun, 1986). Clubs and groups across Washington State are helping to fulfill that very need in offering WSH-approved games shows for horse enthusiasts from the age of 2 to 60 and up.
Time clocks and standardized courses are used statewide guaranteeing riders the opportunity to document their improvement from the beginning of the season (August 1) to the end (July 31). Up to fifteen different events are offered at each of the shows including Barrels, California Stake, Figure 8, Flags, Keyhole, Keyrace, Poles, Cowhide, Rescue Race, Two Man Three Barrel, Two Man Stake, Bareback Relay, Team Baton, Team Flags, and Team Poles.
Riders of all skill levels also have the opportunity to qualify for the Division′s premier show, the Washington State Championship Show. The annual event is held in August at a central Washington location by recording just five times in the events of their choice (one of the times out of an alternate arena). A listing of all the shows, dates, and locations for the entire season is posted in The Canter, WSH′s official publication.
There is a place for all ages and levels of competition within the Games Division. Shows are open to all breeds of horses as well as mules and donkeys. With these wide parameters, our events make it possible for the entire family to be involved. Join WSH today and become a part of the Western Games Division family!
